Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and ITK Engineering have jointly developed a digital training tool named EVA to support adults with autism spectrum disorder. EVA is an acronym for „Emotionen Verstehen und Ausdrücken“ which means understanding and expressing emotions. A web-based app featuring video and audio clips affords patients the opportunity to learn to distinguish 40 emotions by interpreting facial expressions and vocal cues. This tool is part of the largest therapy study to investigate the social challenges that adults with autism spectrum disorder face. ITK Engineering is involved as a technical development partner and provides the infrastructure, the application as well as the results to Humboldt-Universität and operates the platform. The development is based on the ITK Digital Health Microservices Platform with standards-compliant and reusable software components which help our customers bring their medical products to market – quickly and successfully without long development cycles.
